Paraphoniks is a Bombay-based electronic music duo.
Inspired by many musical styles, Shatrunjai Dewan and Sid Shirodkar have evolved into an increasingly genre-agnostic project.
Over time, they have embraced various forms of electronic music through sonic experimentation. They managed to build a world of their own, tying their disparate influences together by a shared love of modular synthesisers and other electronic instruments.
Combining the immediacy and often unpredictable nature of these weapons with more conventional instruments, such as guitars and keyboards, Paraphoniks employs a unique approach to both making music and live performance.
As an illustration of their quite atypical methods, the fearless pair produced most of their latest offering, ‘Silhouettes’, during a 2-week writing stint in the Himalayan hills !
Nonetheless, the EP also features collaborations with singer-songwriter Azamaan Hoyvoy and drummer Sahil Shah ; and the opening track ‘Rubicon’, was re-released in 2019 by French label, Nowadays Records.
Paraphoniks supported the release of this project with performances at the prestigious Magnetic Fields Festival and a co-headlining tour of India with Napoleon Gold from Luxembourg.
